Attack on a Women’s Access to Contraception!!
Another day, another Republican attack on a supporter of women’s access to contraception.
Nationally, the uproar continues over Rush Limbaugh’s insulting and sexist remarks about Sandra Fluke, a brave law school student who testified before congress on women’s health.
Here in California, Jennifer Kerns, Communications Director for the California Republican Party, doubled down on Limbaugh’s comments. On Twitter she attacked MSNBC commentator Krystal Ball for defending Fluke calling her a “stripper” and a “slut”.
This hurtful language from Limbaugh and Kerns has no place in our political discourse, but this IS the current state of the Republican Party nationally and here in California. The same GOP that has alienated Latinos, African Americans, LGBT people and countless others, has now turned their sights on women.
But we don’t have to accept this. These extremists have gone too far and with your help we can make them pay at the ballot box this June, where we have an open primary and in the 8th Congressional District, we have at least 8 republicans (or former republicans trying to slide in as decline to state types) who have not condemned this type of talk, no more than they condemned Candidate Jenson (former Hesperia Major) who suggested he would put people who disagreed with him in the scope of his 50 cal. rifle–these people, in a greater sense, are endangering America’s chance to survive. Let’s send them home on June 5th!
